Kent Displays, Inc. Successfully Hits Infringers of its Intellectual Property
(June 20, 2017) KENT, OHIO, USA – Kent Displays Inc., the makers of Boogie BoardTM eWriters, is announcing successes in its approach to the global protection of its intellectual property (IP) rights, including its patents, trademarks, trade dress, and copyrights. Invented in the U.S., the Boogie Board eWriter is a popular electronic writing device sold globally that provides the feel of a natural pen-on-paper writing experience.
“We take the enforcement of our intellectual property very seriously,” said CEO, Dr. Albert Green.
The company’s strategy includes a case pursued with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in which foreign manufacturers have been identified to have violated patents held by Kent Displays.
“Our strategy involving the ITC courts has been very deliberate and a big success for us. We will continue our proactive approach to defend our IP utilizing tactics that will not risk exposing our trade secrets to potential infringers,” Green said. “In addition to the ITC action, we are exercising our rights to pursue increasingly aggressive avenues, including federal courts.”
This development comes on the heels of other successes for Kent Displays, including take downs of infringing goods and committed partnerships with distributors and retailers to thwart violators of its intellectual property.
“We’re scoring these victories because our distribution network, our retailers, and our consumers appreciate the authenticity that comes with our highly-valued eWriter products,” Green said. "That especially includes the large number of consumers in China who love our brand. And there should be no doubt that the feeling is mutual– we are an American company that creates and supports thousands of jobs in China.”
Kent Displays, known for its technological innovation, breakthrough design, and sophisticated global marketing, has several unannounced new products set for release this year and beyond. “We are taking the proactive steps necessary to ensure that the fruits of our innovation go to those who deserve its reward– that includes our collaborative partners in China and across the globe,” Green said.
