Marketing Manager

Summary

We are Kent Displays, the makers of Boogie Board® -- the world’s #1 electronic writing tablets. And, we are on a mission to change how the world writes. We were founded in 1993, by Dr. William Doane of the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University and William Manning of Manning and Napier, Rochester New York. Since then, the company has evolved from focusing on developing and licensing R&D related to LCDs, to becoming a global lifestyle and consumer electronics company passionate about redefining writing. We are looking for a Marketing Manager who has the skills and passion to help take our company to the next level.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of our marketing strategies and tactics in order to achieve our business goals. The role requires a leader who can not only help to build a B-to-C business (our primary focus), but also one who can help drive our smaller but growing B-to-B & OEM businesses. To succeed in this role, you’ll need not just be a skilled strategist, but also be willing to roll up your sleeves to get stuff done and embrace creative marketing tactics as well as traditional marketing approaches with an emphasis on digital marketing. You will lead a small team of one to two other marketers and will report to our VP of Marketing. Some of your key duties will include:

  • Establishing marketing goals and building marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels and segments in support of our overall strategic marketing plan
  • Approving and overseeing the creative development of promotional materials, PR, website content, advertisements, and other marketing-related projects
  • Lead our internal and external communication efforts
  • Collaborating with our internal design team to create impactful marketing content
  • Collaborating with our Product Managers to launch new products with excellence
  • Tracking all marketing and sales data and creates detailed written reports and executive presentations
  • Driving our trade show, conference and event planning, coordination and execution./li>

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

  • Four-year degree, preferably in a business-related or communications discipline. MBA is preferred
  • 7+ years of marketing experience with progressive leadership roles
  • A servant-leader and player/coach mentality and a proactive problem-solver
  • Strong team building and collaboration skills
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Exposure to digital marketing best practices
  • Competence as a creative writer with an eye for great emails and landing pages
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including data-driven thinking
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
